The Daily Collective - Day 1

This is a blogging experience dedicated to bringing you the best and brightest of stupidity in the online world. The sites that will be most commonly brought to you are: Cracked.com, The Daily What, Failbook, and family of Texts, MyLife(s), and other sad stories that make our own lives seem amazing!

First up, The Daily What: "Quote of the Day"

http://thedailywh.at/post/1522111659/people-ask-me-why-i-named-the-show-conan-i-did

You can't blame the guy, after the treatment he got from NBC and Jay Leno, it really is the smarter move, but I think this is why Conan has such an amazing following. He turns a terrible situation into a punch-line, turning a drama into a comedy, and making a joke at his own expense because he finds the funny in a shitty situation.

Second, FMyLife.com: "Giving Back to the Community"

http://www.fmylife.com/miscellaneous/13766093

It seems bad enough to get community service for a small infraction, but it's a nice little turn in the end (as you see with most FMLs). This one is pretty bad in particular, because it's not just bad enough to being threatened to getting kicked out of college, but the "Why?" in this one really sucks.

Next up, Cracked.com: "The 5 Reasons why Women are just as shallow as Men (According to Science)"

http://www.cracked.com/article_18866_5-reasons-women-are-as-shallow-as-men-according-to-science.html

I know to the female readers that this seems a little sexist, but it really does have a lot of good information in it. It's not trying to dig into women, it's just a little comparison between men and women (and undoubtably, how men are still the mindless knuckle-draggers of the human world, of course). There are parts in it that made me go "Huh...I never thought of that, but it makes sense."

Finally, Failbooking.com: "Foods of the World"

http://failbook.failblog.org/2010/11/08/funny-facebook-fails-foods-around-the-world/

This one is not necessarily funny, but it is cute. I like the little back and forth, and a couple that had to be strained, but still made it. I'd like to see more of this on Facebook, but I guess you can't expect everyone to be this sharp (HAHA)

Well, another blog on the range for tomorrow. Hope this becomes a daily thing :-)
